MacScout

The MacScout is a software client for the Gamma-Scout® Geiger-Mueller couter. While Quickdecay has no affiliation with and is not endorsed by GAMMA-SCOUT Ltd, manufacturer of the Gamma-Scout®, we have created a software client to read out the radiation data in the Gamma-Scout®, which we believe is easier to use than the official Windows-only software.

MacScout version 1.0 has been released. If you have any feedback, please mail us at support@quickdecay.com with all your questions and suggestions. We're always interested in making MacScout a better product.

The MacScout features:
* intuitive one-click interface
* immediately recognises a Gamma-Scout® once it is connected
* recognises previously connected Gamma-Scouts®
* creates and reads CSV files comparable to the official Gamma-Scout® software
* creates and reads raw data files compatible with the official Gamma-Scout® software
* synchronise the date and time of the Gamma-Scout®
* just €15 (excl. VAT) for a single license, free point-updates

The MacScout requires:
* an Apple computer; both PowerPC and Intel Macs are supported. Windows is not supported
* OS X version 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard)
* one or more USB slots (one for each simultaneously connected Gamma-Scout®)
* a Gamma-Scout®^*1. Quickdecay only sells software to interface with the Gamma-Scout®, we do not sell the hardware

The MacScout does not include:
* the actual Gamma-Scout® itself. If you're interested in a Geiger-Mueller counter, please visit www.gamma-scout.com.

1. At the moment of the release of the MacScout, only the features of the basic Gamma-Scout® are supported. The extended features of i.e. the Gamma-Scout Live® will not be, however if there are enough requests to add Live support, we'll look into it.
